We are between 35 and 45 minutes away from small cities and we live between 2 and 3 hours away from major cities. Sometimes, since our extra small town has a small StuffMart and a small grocery store I forget that we are really in a rural setting; however, many times things remind us...

We hadn't heard of it either, but unfortunately we experienced it this year.
As our Indian Summer just seemed to drag on and on this year we decided to take a little time to explore Corpus Christi and the beaches in southern Texas. The kids were so excited. We had spent the summer in and out of hospitals and doctors' offices Lizhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/05044041454726423134noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-273889509653804449.post-69241040693621209292011-11-12T10:30:00.000-06:002011-11-12T10:30:02.163-06:00A New Skill....All 3 of my daughters have taken up piano. They all seem to really enjoy the lessons and some tolerate practice better than others, but my oldest dear daughter is drawn to it. It seems as if she must play when she walks by...her fingers have to seek the melody. My 9 year old daughter who has been playing the longest also seems to love mastering each new song and gets excited as Lizhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/05044041454726423134noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-273889509653804449.post-50852772325495965022011-11-11T13:46:00.000-06:002011-11-11T13:46:12.179-06:00Meeting Those Who Love You!!!Eventually we had to bust our little baby from the NICU. After 15 hours they finally were convinced that there wasn't anything else that could be done for him until he could see the pediatric orthopedist. We were so glad to get him from the baby jail because so many people wanted to meet him....
We were all so excited to welcome baby Luke!

I was left with the surgeons and the sweetest OB nurse ever to work. (Just a note about my amazing nurses. They had a scheduled c-section ahead of us and then a poor lady needed an emergency section. Baby Luke was just fine to wait as long as there were no contractions or pitocin. So he was just hanging out while his Mommy was just hanging on.
They wheeled me down the hall and Lizhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/05044041454726423134noreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-273889509653804449.post-24833575295368135072011-11-08T02:02:00.009-06:002011-11-09T10:35:45.527-06:00Baby Day!!!Post 1Post 2Post 3On June 9, 2011....I woke up to what I thought would be my last full day of pregnancy. Our appointment with genetics was at 3:30 pm to be followed up with an ultrasound at 4:30 pm. There are only 2 little yellow marshmallow chicks left to be consumed. There are NONE at the local Wal-Mart! Something that makes us that much stronger as a family and something for them to remember their childhood by.Dying Eggs is one of those traditions (right up there with Mama going crazy over new school supplies EACH.Lizhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/05044041454726423134noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-273889509653804449.post-20949477383369454972011-04-24T19:49:00.007-05:002011-04-25T01:46:02.451-05:0030 and 3....Today I am 30 weeks and 3 days pregnant with our baby boy! The last time I was 30 weeks and 3 days pregnant I ended up delivering in an unplanned emergency c-section. 3 days later instead of consulting with doctors on what would be the best plan for our little man we ended up holding Timothy Anderson for the last moments while he was transitioning from earth to Abraham's bosom.5 days later Lizhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/05044041454726423134noreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-273889509653804449.post-18784373655200523182011-04-23T13:50:00.000-05:002011-04-26T02:43:07.493-05:00What's up Doc???Not much except my foot! Yep, that is right...this really big pregnant lady slipped on a stack of recipe books next to her bed and ended up crying out in pain! It is a great place to just walk around and see the architecture and all of the cool street vendors (we ran into a musician, a bird trainer, and a saxophonist). However, to really discover the treasure you have to check out all of the museums! The last Tuesday we were in town we spent the entire day at the park!We got there early Lizhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/05044041454726423134noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-273889509653804449.post-74748319558733827932011-02-04T07:47:00.009-06:002011-02-04T08:21:21.059-06:00Baby, it's cold outside...and that is no joke!
