Food for thought....

Last night I was listening to a CD from the Vision Forum collection. It was about women being supportive of their husbands and how men need to be revered and respected. It was a great listen. (The name has escaped me at the moment, but I will link to it soon.) Anyway, there were a few things that stuck with me:

A good wife can help to make an average man great; a good wife can help make a good man superior. Sometimes we forget how much we are responsible for building up our husbands and ENCOURAGING them to be the man that God wants them to be. Many times we get so wrapped up in all the things we need to do to make the home we forget about the things that we need to say to make the man.

I ran across a poem that I copied down in college: (I have NO idea who the author is, if you know please let me know!)

I climbed up the door
And shut the stairs
I said my shoes
And took off my prayers
I shut off the bed
And climbed into the light
And all because he kissed me goodnight!

Do you remember when this was your response to hubby? Try to remember for him, so you can be that much more of an encourager. I know I'm dusting off some old feelings and smiling just a little broader at him. Encouraging him is as much a part of our responsibilities as tucking the kids in at night. Just a friendly reminder from your friend in the trenches. Hugs, Liz

Thank you. I needed that today. Have you read Created to be His Help Meet by Debi Pearl? It is along the same lines and very encouraging.

(I would love to know the name of the CD.)

Hi Connie, I will link to the CD in just a bit, but I wanted to say that yes I have read Created to be His Help Meet and I loved it. It was very challenging in the area of the home being our responsibility (all of it - even the stinky old trash!)
