7 yo DS's Christmas present
Ok guys, time for another wonderful round of Help for Me Wednesday!!! I get to ask a question and all of you so valuable readers get to give me your absolutely wonderful answers that I will treasure and wonder how I ever added 2+2 without you! So for my question: I have been making the ever so important Christmas list and checking it twice and I can't for the life of me think of what to get for dear 7 year old son. I would like for it to be something neat and interesting, but I really don't like to buy things that are marketed for some superhero. He really likes history and science and all things that 7 year old boys like. I would like to stay at $50 or under. Thanks for helping me out!

Why not try history museum gift shops for ideas. Google a history museum, click on their gift shop and see what neat things they have. They just might have something that catches your eye.
Story of the World books

You could get a science kit that he could have lots of fun with and a science experiemnt book to go with it. It would provide hours of fun1
My son really enjoyed the magnet building kits.
reggie325How about those cool science kits with magnets? Or maybe a set from Radio Shack? My brothers used to love those electronic sets.

Legos - does he have Legos??? or K'nex?
Others have already mentioned science kits - very cool! I just got rave reviews from a nephew to whom I sent one for a birthday. Michael's has tons of different ones. As a matter of fact, as I type this, my kids are finishing making gummy bugs from a science kit! They loved it!
Or how about model kits - rockets, planes, etc. Same nephew loves these.
I just finished browsing through the recent Mindware catalog that came in today's mail. There were tons of things in there I would love to get for my boys once they are a few years older - which means it's probably right on target for your son.
They have a website: http://www.mindwareonline.com
They even have stuff that I want, just so I can play with it!
Musical Instruments could always be a great pressent. ie Guitar, ukulele. I was hoping to buy my nephews something like this but unfortunantly they are not quite old enough yet, Just a thought.
